Michael R. Sears (b.1962) has worked in Florida, Georgia, and the Bahamas. Born in Vero Beach, FL, Sears began painting at a very young age under the tutelage of George Buckner Jr., FL Highwaymen Hall of Fame artist and direct art descendant of A.E. Backus (Beanie) of Fort Pierce, FL. The community where they lived was a beehive of FL Highwaymen activity, which included giants such as Harold Newton, Alphonso Morgan, Livingston Roberts, Ellis Buckner, and Willie Reagan.
